What kind of inclusions do you work with?

Alongside out two main inclusions Breast milk and ashes. We can also custom-make keepsakes with the following (depending on the design)

  • Umbilical cord (dried)
  • Hair (baby, loved one or animal)
  • Dried flowers
  • Fabric
  • Sand or soil
  • Paper fragments
  • and more

If you're unsure whether your inclusion will work with the piece you want, contact us before ordering and we'll tell you what's possible for that specific design.
What is your turnaround time?

The most accurate estimate is included in your order confirmation. Turnaround starts once inclusions are received, not at checkout.
Can i customize my piece?

Many items allow customization (Color tones, flakes, layering, metal choice, add-ons). If you don't see the option you want, contact us with:

  • The product name/link
  • The inclusions you want included
  • Your preferred style/look we'll confirm what's possible.
How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs should be relatively low and is calculated based on your location and the items in your order.

It is the customers responsibility to pay for shipping to Milk & Meadow Keepsakes.
How do i care for my keepsake?
  • Remove before showering, swimming, hot tubs, and heavy workouts.
  • Avoid perfume, lotions, hairspray, and cleaning chemicals on the piece.
  • Store in a dry jewelry box/pouch, away from direct sunlight
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth (no chemical jewelry cleaners on the inclusion area).
What happens to leftover Inclusions?

We treat all inclusions with care and respect.

  • Ashes (human or pet): Any unused ashes are sealed and returned to you with your finished keepsake whenever possible
  • Breast milk: Leftover breast milk is not returned. We can store remaining milk for up to 1 year for future orders, or safely dispose of it after your piece is completed, based on your preference.
  • Other inclusions (hair, cord, flowers, fabric etc.): Leftovers are typically stored for future use for a reasonable period of time, unless you request them returned.
How much of my inclusion do i need to send?

It depends on the piece you order, but you only need a small amount. After checkout, you'll receive exact instructions for your specific item.

General Guidelines:

  • Breast milk: Typically 10-20 ml (about 2 teaspoons)
  • Ashes (human or pet): typically 1/2 - 1 teaspoon
  • Umbilical cord: a small dried piece (1/2 - 1 inch is plenty)
  • Hair: a small lock, about 10-20 strands (or a small pinch)
  • Dried flowers: 3-5 petals or a small pinch of fragments
  • Fabric: a small cutting, about 1" X 1"
  • Sand/Soil: typically 1-2 teaspoons
  • Paper Fragments: a small piece (we'll confirm size based on design)
What if i don't have enough to send what's recommended?

That's very common, don't stress. Message us before you ship and tell us what you have. In many cases we can still make your keepsake with a smaller amount, adjust the design to suit the inclusion you have, or recommend the best piece style for your situation.
